Digital painting of a face with no lower jaw. The eyes are sunken, white, and has small red veins around the edges of the cornea. The skin is mottled, in some places hanging off the bone which gives an impression of decomposition. The expression is pained and the lack of lower jaw makes the subject seem like they're always screaming. The overall piece is brown toned with a black background and uses broad impressionist inspired strokes.

I'm sorry your pain is unseen, 
I'm sorry your sacrifices are this consuming. 

I wish I could've stepped in earlier
And halt your decomposition.
For now I'll do what I can with embalming.
